Groundbreaking ceremony at the Biocampus

Together with Minister President Dr. Markus Söder and Bavaria’s Minister of Economic Affairs and Energy Hubert Aiwanger, our Managing Director Carsten Steiling attended the ground-breaking ceremony for the BioCampus MultiPilot (BMP) multi-purpose demonstration facility for bioeconomy projects at the port of Straubing.

The client is the Straubing-Sand Port Association, while the port subsidiary BioCampus Straubing GmbH is responsible for implementation and operation. The total volume of the project is around 90 million euros. As the region relies on renewable raw materials, the MultiPilot plant is a key component for the BioCampus. Andreas Löffert, Managing Director of the Straubing-Sand Port Association, explained: “The BMP will support the industry in accelerating the commercialization of more sustainable, better products.”

SCHRADER Verfahrenstechnik GmbH is supplying the digestion plant for the BioCampus, including the associated plant peripherals.
